Tumby Bay woman Barbara Fauser celebrated her 90th birthday with family and friends at the Tumby Bay Hotel.
The function was organised by the Port Neill branch of the South Australian Country Women’s Association and Barbara’s family.
Branch president Toni Hunt made the birthday cake and presented Barbara with a certificate recognising the many positions she had held during her membership, which dates back to 1977.
She was CWA branch president for eight years between 1980 and 1997; vice president in 1981; assistant secretary for four years from 1980; treasurer for seven years and on the committee for many years from 1980.
Barbara won many CWA competitions – including bloom of the month – organised events, held meetings in her home and wrote Recollections of Port Neill.
Toni said Barbara was an extremely active member of the branch for the many decades she lived at Port Neill until recent years.
Port Neill Bowling Club also presented Barbara with a certificate acknowledging her involvement for many decades with it.
