The Ungarra Christmas Concert went off without a hitch last week as students performed magnificent acts across the town hall stage.

Georgia Stratford and the Playcentre did a sparkling rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, followed by student piano recitals.

The school student excellence award went to Jeffrey Telfer as presented by principal Rory Hunt and Gracen Dyer.

The pair also presented the Sam Telfer Award to Freya Telfer after a whole school performance of The Beanstalk.

Mr Hunt said it was a good show.

“Thank you to pastoral care worker Nicole Clark for her hard work on the end of year school concert, writing the script, directing, choreographing and doing props and costumes,” he said.

“The end of year school concert is a good time to reflect on what has been a positive year. We won the excellence and equity award, raised $90,000 for the school playground and continue to improve on student learning experiences.

“I’d like to take the opportunity to acknowledge all the hard work of the student, parents, teachers and the community, thank you.”

The Rowan Ramsey Award went to Rebecca Palmer for her contributions to the school in her first year as president of Parents and Friends.

Ms Palmer spearheaded the school’s major fundraiser, the SALA exhibition and opening night, and organised the teacher appreciation morning tea.

She also assisted the school to successfully receive a grant to facilitate students’ mental and physical health with a disco.

The evening finished off with a visit from Father Christmas.
