Alex loving being part of Cleve Rural Traders team

Cleve Rural Traders has welcomed new agronomist Alex Walker with open arms and she is loving being part of the team.

After growing up on the family farm at Nundroo, Alex went to the University of Adelaide to study a Bachelor of Agriculture Science, before heading to Victoria for a couple of years and then returning to Eyre Peninsula.

Alex said she always had a desire to return to the region.

“I missed the beaches and I’m really passionate about marginal rainfall areas,” she said.

“Cleve is close to the coast, and I loved the Rural Traders team when I met them and what they were doing.”

Having lived on a broadacre cropping property, Alex said she developed a passion for agriculture from a young age and always loved the idea of being able to help other farmers.

“One of my favourite parts of the job is working with the growers, because you learn so much from them,” she said.

“They’ve been farming on this land for generations and they know more about their land than you do.”

Alex said she had been loving every minute since starting at Cleve Rural Traders on Monday 2 February.

“I’ve loved my time so far, the team is amazing, with their vision and the level of service they provide is really impressive,” she said.

“I can see they really work hard for the growers, their clients really trust them, and I couldn’t be happier to be part of the team.”
