As harvest ramps up, deliveries into Bunge sites across Eyre Peninsula are increasing.
Wheat and barley made up the majority of recent deliveries, while Lock broke its daily receival record late last month.
Bunge Western region operations manager Nick Pratt said deliveries had increased across the region and he expressed his pleasure about the Lock record.
“This new record is a great effort by farmers and carriers, and our employees for moving deliveries safely and efficiently through the site to support them,” he said.
“While wheat and barley made up the majority of tonnes, lentil deliveries contributed to the record-breaking day as farmers wrap up their lentil harvest. We received the commodity at Lock for the first time this season, and the segregation has been well utilised.
“Across the region we also had a few good days of receivals, as farmers took the opportunity to harvest and deliver when conditions allowed.”
As harvest on lower Eyre Peninsula picks up, sites like Cummins are seeing plenty of activity.
The first vessel of the season last month departed from the Port Lincoln terminal, carrying 66,000 tonnes of local barley bound for Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
