As the 2025-26 harvest approaches, T-Ports has announced the launch of a new community program set to put money into clubs and causes across the Eyre and Yorke peninsulas.
‘Grain for Good’ will see T-Ports donate 50 cents for every tonne delivered to a T-Ports site this season.
It will be up to each grower to decide which club or cause to give to, with a number of local football and netball clubs listed as options, as well as a local ‘fund of your choice’.
Each group will be eligible to receive up to $10,000, with funds to be distributed after harvest.
Listed Eyre Peninsula clubs for 2025-26 include Kimba Districts Football and Netball Club; Lock Football and Netball Club; Cowell Football and Netball Club; Eastern Ranges Football and Netball Club; Central Eyre United Football and Netball Club; and Ports Football and Netball Club.
“We believe so strongly in backing the communities that back T-Ports year after year, and our Grain for Good initiative is just another way we can do that,” T-Ports grower relations officer Hayley Lewis said.
“The past 12 to 18 months have been challenging for our community, but they’ve continued to back us the whole way. This program is our way of saying thank you and giving something back in return.
“We know that sporting clubs are at the heart of our regional communities, so naturally they were a great place to start for our first iteration of this program.”
T-Ports officially launched Grain for Good at Yorke Peninsula Field Days this week.
“We’re proud of the many benefits we generate for growers by increasing competition in the landscape,” Ms Lewis said.
“Now, when growers choose T-Ports they’re also choosing the clubs and causes that keep our regional communities strong, with benefits flowing straight back to them.
“Every delivery will make an impact.”
To donate, each grower – or carrier, on their behalf – only needs to scan a QR code displayed in the sampling hut and fill out a form nominating the club or cause of their choice.
T-Ports will then calculate the donation amount for each delivery.
To choose an alternative cause, growers can simply nominate a registered not-for-profit through a ‘fund of your choice’ option.
