Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) is heading to Eyre Peninsula this month for forums in Wudinna and Cleve.

The towns will host GRDC’s Grain Research Update, where agronomists, consultants, researchers and growers can see and discuss the latest in research and network with peers about how to apply new and relevant information to the latest farming systems.

Topics to be discussed include: Alternative weed control, options for the future with Michael Walsh of Charles Sturt University; Canola agronomy 101 with Steve Marcroft of Marcroft Grains Pathology and Angela Van de Wouw from the University of Melbourne; Decision making and understanding risk with uncertain seasonal conditions with Peter Hayman of the South Australian Research and Development Institute; Integrating spatial data and long-term strategies for improved P fertiliser management with Stuart Sherriff from Trengove Consulting; and a reflection on 2024 and what can be learnt from a tough year with Kenton Porker from CSIRO.

Wudinna Community Club will host a session on Wednesday, July 30 and Cleve Sporting Bodies the other on Thursday, July 31.

Both sessions are free – registration is essential for catering purposes – and will run from 9am to 1pm.
