Farm business workshop coming to Port Lincoln

The Grains Research and Development Corporation is hosting a Farm Business Update in Port Lincoln next week.

The update seeks to drive innovation and adoption of improved farm business management practices across the grains industry.

It will be hosted at the Port Lincoln Hotel on Wednesday, July 2 from 9.30am to 3.15pm.

The program features a line-up of topics identified as priorities by grain growers and advisers in the region and across Australia.

Topics for the update are: Global outlook on grain markets by Andrew Whitelaw from Episode 3; Business transition – planning for and funding generational retirement, by Lachlan Polkinghorne of Moore Australia; Preparing for automation, from Ed Scott of Field Systems; Everyday tools for mindset and resilience – for yourself, your family and your team, by Dr Jane Foster of Emotional Resilience Training; Adaptive management – managing costs and maximising profit for current conditions, by Peter Newman from Planfarm; and Strip & Disc – assessing the risk/reward, by Royce Pitchford of Pinion Advisory and Kelvin Tiller from Nine Mile Farm.

The event is free, but please register for catering purposes.

Morning tea, lunch and a booklet will be included.
