Stud principal Joe Dahlitz was thrilled with the prices achieved in his final year as stud principal, as it meant the stud’s new owners Aaron and Xavier Watson would be the second stud going to auction at the Adelaide Show sale in 2025.

Prices are averaged for the top five rams by stud, with those gaining the best prices being offered for sale first the following year, and usually selling for the best prices.

“I was very pleased, the [Watson] boys will be the second stud to sell next year,” Joe said.

The Cummins’ stud’s top price was for lot 17, which sold for $15,000 to Kamora Park Poll Merino Stud of Karoonda.

Roemahkita sold lot 18 to Jaburee Poll Merino of Wilmington for $10,000 and lot 19 to Kimba’s Millbrae Poll Merino Stud for $8000.

The stud also achieved success in the Royal Adelaide Show’s merino section, where it won the best merino meat and fibre group of the show.

Joe said Roemahkita would continue both exhibiting in the show and selling at the ram sale under the ownership of CD Watson and Co, next week, with Aaron and Xavier Watson both part of the handling team for the sheep this year.
