Seniors bake Christmas biscuits

Some of Lock’s senior residents got into the Christmas spirit early with a pooled lunch and activities held in early December.

Volunteer coordinator Anne Siviour said the Lock Get Up and Goers started off their session with some chair exercises.

They then worked together to roll out biscuit dough, cut them out in traditional Christmas shapes and bake them.

The residents worked together to ice their honey biscuits, with each person getting a container full of them to take home.

“The Lock Sporting Complex kitchen certainly smelt delicious with the aroma of honey biscuits filling the room,” Anne said.

“Several games created some laughter, a Secret Santa gift exchange and a beautiful pooled lunch, complete with Christmas Pudding, was enjoyed by all.

“Everyone is keen to get together again in 2026 and if you are 55 or over, we would love to have you.”

Anne said the day was a wonderful way to end a great year of fellowship.

Lock Get Up and Goers is run by volunteers under the Lock Health Centre Advisory Committee, which is also made up of community volunteers.
