Lipson community Christmas lunch planned

A community Christmas Day lunch will be held at the Lipson Hall at 12.30pm – open to locals or people travelling through the district.

Organiser Dave Balasubramanian said he and his wife Claire organised a Lipson Christmas lunch in 2024, but it ended up being moved to Tumby Bay.

“We did it last year and we had a decent response. We ended up having 19 people,” Dave said.

He said the Lipson Hall was not air conditioned and when hot weather was forecast, Ruth Parker of Tumby Bay Uniting Church offered them the use of the church hall.

“We are keen to do it at Lipson this year,” Dave said.

“People in the community called and donated food that couldn’t come – that was overwhelming.”

He said people were welcome to just turn up, as he and his wife Claire were simply putting it on as a way to give back to the community.

However, they were welcome to take a plate of food to share.

Please contact Claire or Dave Balasubramanian on 0479 016 532 if interested in attending or helping out.

Take a Santa panther selfie

Also at Lipson, the pink panther just north of the town has been dressed up for Christmas and owner Sonia Zechner said people were welcome to stop and take a selfie with him.

The Garden Artz by Sonia owner said the panther sits on the corner of Bergs Road and Lincoln Highway.
