Bowls club hosts cup day lunch

About 60 people attended a Melbourne Cup day lunch at Cleve District Bowling Club this month.

Each person was offered a glass of champagne on arrival, before baked Swiss chicken breast with a creamy garlic white wine mustard sauce or alternatively a Mediterranean meatball quinoa and feta salad with a lemon vinaigrette.

Dessert was either a mixed berry and cream pavlova or a white chocolate cheesecake.

The recently reopened clubroom was decorated in white and gold balloons and an arrangement of roses on each table.

Helen Lee won the best fascinator prize in Cleve.
