The latest meeting of the Ceduna branch of South Australia Country Women’s Association (SACWA) was held in the Anglican Church Hall on June 10 and included an insight on an amazing trip.
President Jenny Skinner welcomed eight members and then led the creed.
Amanda Hoffrichter spoke about her walk from Wilmington in the Mid North to Calabrinda Creek, north of Quorn – covering about 140 kilometres in six days.
Amanda was amazing, telling members about her journey and also showing the walk in areas.
She also showed her little bag of sheep wool which she carries for blisters – thanks go to Amanda for her talk.
Minutes were read by Claire Collins, while Judy Gregory gave the treasurer’s report.
The branch will be ordering more SACWA recipe books, which can be bought at Flair On Eyre.
The craft report was read by Claire and these days are enjoyed by all who attend.
Claire and Kath Dunn were the judges for the competitions.
Finishing on 10 points in the bloom competition were Jenny (rose), Annette Moyse and Kath (pansy), while Elaine Kloock finished on nine points with her petunia.
Kath finished on 10 points in the craft competition with her scarf, with Elaine on nine points for a cardholder and Annette with a painting.
The roll call for the meeting was your own choice.
Afternoon tea and a few laughs brought a very enjoyable meeting to a close.
The next meeting will be on Tuesday, July 8 at 1.30pm in the Anglican Church Hall. All are welcome to attend.
