Yaninee Sports Club was abuzz with warmth and generosity as more than 40 adults and many cheerful children came together for a heartfelt Biggest Morning Tea event on Tuesday, May 20.
The collaboration between Wudinna Playgym and Yaninee Sports Club raised an incredible $1987.15 for Cancer Council.
Organiser Mandy Scholz said the event was not just about raising money, but also a celebration of the connection of a small community coming together.
“To raise nearly $2000 is absolutely amazing. Hosting an event like this gave everyone the chance to gather and catch up while supporting a cause that means so much to us all,” she said.
“Everyone in our community has been touched by cancer in some way – whether personally or through someone they love.
“The strong sense of community and support for one another is something we truly value out here.”
She said guests were treated to a full day of inspiring activities and community connection.
Highlights included a motivating Fearless Mind coaching session with Kerri Sampson, Thermomix demonstrations by Bec Smart and a creative mandala workshop led by Kylie Bartley.
There was plenty of fun for all ages, with a mini playgym, raffles, lucky squares, a guess-the-lolly-jar competition and plants for sale.
A standout feature was the stunning grazing-style table, filled with delicious homemade morning tea and lunch options.
Mandy thanked the community for its overwhelming support.
“Special thanks go to our presenters – Kerri Sampson, Bec Smart, and Kylie Bartley – for generously sharing their time, knowledge and talents,” she said.
“Your contributions helped make the day engaging, educational and inspiring for all who attended.”
She also thanked the local businesses who donated raffle prizes and whose generosity helped boost the fundraising total.
