The event featured readings from her best-selling book – ‘Dancing in the Light’ – an open discussion and a book signing session, offering a unique opportunity for the community to connect with her.

The evening was a great success, with 22 people attending.

Launched last year, ‘Dancing in the Light’ quickly became a number one best seller on Amazon Australia in three categories and also in the ‘movers and shakers’ category – even holding out Bluey for a couple of days.

The book is an exploration of life, resonating with both female and male readers.

Suzie wrote the book over a two-year period, balancing her time between running a successful coaching business, helping with the family farming business, parenting and community involvement.

It was her lifelong ambition to share her unique take on living a truly meaningful life through her passion for writing.

Suzie described her book as a “perfectly imperfect book, written by a recovered people-pleasing perfectionist”.

The evening kicked off with Suzie sharing how her book came to fruition before reading selected excerpts.

The audience was highly engaged and resonated with the excerpts and opened up discussion.

Discussion was both enlightening and inspiring, providing a deeper understanding of the book.

The audience was highly engaged, with many expressing their admiration and curiosity.

As the event concluded, Suzie signed copies, taking the time to chat with each attendee and donating a copy of her book to the library.

Attendee Diane Irvine said she was “thrilled to attend the event and listen to Suzie share how we can take full responsibility for our present reality and alleviate our own suffering so that our true essence light can shine”.

Diane said she was excited for future events the library will be hosting and said it was wonderful to see the community being offered such great opportunities to engage, learn and connect with one another.

The author also expressed her pleasure at how the evening went.

“I was delighted with the attendance and support from the Ceduna community and thanked library manager Paula Marks for organising such a lovely evening,” Suzie said.

“The main idea of these types of evenings from my perspective is not just for the promotion of my book but ideally to use the book as a symbol of encouragement for people from all walks of life to come together to share a couple hours of real and authentic connection with each other and walk away with a renewed energy and commitment to continue to do their best in their own lives.

“That’s part of the beauty and simplicity of the written word, we can carry a book around with us to give ourselves reminders when we need them most.”

Paula said she would like to acknowledge Suzie’s remarkable ability to connect with the community.

She said Suzie left a lasting impact on everyone who had the pleasure of hearing her speak.

“We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who attended the event and to staff member Jodie Heath for her support prior to the event and to those that contributed throughout the evening,” Paula said.

“The library has some exciting events planned for the community.

“We rely on your participation to make these events successful and enriching for everyone. Your involvement and support are what make our community vibrant and engaging.”
