Neindorf’s Friendly Grocer in Tumby Bay has sold another winning Keno ticket – this time for $50,000 – only 18 months after another winner took home a couple of million.
The Adelaide man held a Keno Spot 8 winning entry drawn on Saturday, December 23, a festive win on his Christmas visit to Tumby Bay.
The winner said he received a call straight after his breakfast the morning after the draw, notifying him of the win.
“What a great way to start the day,” he exclaimed.
“I’m just visiting Tumby Bay from Adelaide for Christmas and I like to play a game of Keno every now and then. I got this ticket yesterday, but I haven’t had the chance to check them yet.
“I’d love to do some home renovations so I think some of this prize will go towards that.”
Store owner Paul Neindorf said it was exciting when these wins occurred.
“It’s a thrill, a small agency like ourselves to sell winning tickets, we had one about 18 months ago for about $2 million and now $50,000, it’s fantastic,” he said.
“It’s great for the person who won it too, so hopefully we sell more and hopefully it will be put to good use.”
Last financial year, Australia’s official lotteries contributed more than $1.6 billion via state lottery taxes and donations to help community initiatives, such as hospitals, health research, disaster relief and education.
