Lock Area School held its presentation morning in December.
Anabell Bowey won the Sam Telfer MP Student Award as the student who showed both determination and growth through challenges, and the capacity to consider and help others throughout their school life.
In Mr Telfer’s view a student with those traits makes an incredibly important contribution to their school and community.
He said those characteristics were essential for the longevity and strength of society, thus this person ought to be commended and recognised by their peers and school leaders accordingly.
Vanessa Boehm won the Rowan Ramsey MP School Community Award.
Cameron Glover was awarded Lock Lions Club’s best secondary ambassador for the school and district prize.
Three classes performed for the audience with Christmas songs and a play.
After the presentation parents were invited into the library for morning tea.
Reuben Young won a Rowe Scientific Regional Science and Engineering Award throughout the year.
Lock teacher Casey Rivett-Smith organised those students who wanted to make and submit an item in the award and gave them directions on what they could make.
She then delivered all the entries to Adelaide for judging.
