Cowell Christmas displays judged

Harbour View Caravan Park has won Cowell Lions best Christmas lights by a business, with Cowell Community Op Shop placing second.

Flavel Drive was awarded the best street in Cowell when Cowell Lions Club toured the town to judge the competition on Sunday night.

Two houses on Kimba Road were standouts in the best Christmas lights display on a home.

Danny and Dani O’Brien won, with Kerry Davies’ house placing second.

Equal third was Kalari on Keith Street, and Vicki and Darren Fisher’s Rupara Street home.

Those heading out for a drive to view the lights should also check out those that gained incentive awards: Lyn Thorogood (Farr St), Glen and Mackenzie Klingberg (Wellington Rd), Jenny and Alan Arnold (Warnes St), Julie Magnay (Lincoln Highway), Brett and Jocelyn Crisfield (North Tce), and Amanda and Kristian Iverson (William St).

Cowell Lions president Allan Zerna reminded people that Cowell’s Christmas pageant is on Sunday, December 24, starting at about 6.30pm.

In addition to Father Christmas’ visit, the Lions club will draw their Christmas raffles and Franklin Harbor mayor Robert Walsh will announce the district’s Australia Day award winners.
