Money raised at Sunday’s Arno Bay Christmas Market all goes to charity and the community.
Market co-organiser Heather Payne said the annual market also gave people a chance to sell their wares or buy presents and treats.
“We are just raising money for charity and supporting the whole community,” she said.
Heather said there were a lot of people on Eyre Peninsula that produced goods for markets and it gave them an outlet to sell them in the lead up to Christmas.
A popular stall at this year’s event was a used clothes’ stall titled Back on the Rack – with goods donated from throughout Eyre Peninsula.
All money raised on that stall is being donated to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), and any unsold clothes are being donated to the Cleve Op Shop.
Heather said in the past the markets had benefited the RFDS, Cleve Hospital Auxiliary, Arno Bay Complex, and Arno Bay SACWA.
It was the fourth year the market had been held at the Complex.
Cleve District Council donated the use of the former Lions train, which gave rides around the oval.
It is also the only public event for children to visit Santa before Christmas, with the exception of the Hotel Arno Social Club event for members.
The social club donated hire of its bouncy castle for children to enjoy on the day.
