
Former Kimba Area School student Holly Woolford received her award as dux of the 2024 year 12 class at the school’s annual presentation night recently.
Holly received a raw SACE score of 99.73 with are tertiary entrance rank of 99.95.
That including a merit for Psychology, which she had already received in a special ceremony at Government House early in 2025.
While a student, Holly studied Psychology on-line through Port Lincoln High School; Child Studies through open access; and English and Maths in classes at Kimba.
Holly said she undertook a research project as her other subject in year 11 and had advice for students tackling year 12 in 2026.
“I think working hard and studying subjects that you are passionate about and enjoy,” she said.
Holly will start of bachelor degree in speech pathology at Adelaide University in 2026 – her choice prompted by personal experience.
“I have a niece that has autism, she is non-verbal, so that has had an impact on my decision – to help other children in the same situation.”
Holly has spent a gap year working at the Kimba Medical Practice but is looking forward to the future now.
“I am looking forward to starting my studies and learning more about that and taking a step towards my career,” Holly said.
“I have gained a lot of experience (in the past year) and was also able to set myself up financially for relocating and moving to Adelaide next year.”
