Wudinna Area School year 12 students planned and organised their own formal which was held in Wudinna Town Hall on Friday October 24.

School deputy principal Jaimee Benson said in her speech to open the evening that it was a special occasion for the group.

“Our year 12 cohort is on the cusp of finalising their schooling,” she said.

“We’re officially celebrating the end of 13 years of schooling for this group.”

She said the students’ final day of school was 7 November, with exams and assessments still to come at that stage.

“Tonight is about pausing to recognise everything they’ve achieved and the people who have supported them along the way,” she said.

“I’d like to take a moment to thank our families for trusting us with your children’s final

years of schooling.

“We’re incredibly lucky here to have such skilled and dedicated teachers for a rural school – staff who genuinely care about the outcomes and futures of these young people.”

The hall was decorated with white and gold balloons, and she said it was a night of great food and special memories.
