Cooks produced magnificent spiced fruit and nut scones for the Tumby Bay scone competition in St Margaret’s Church supper room on Friday 10 October.

There were nine entries for the third competition held this year, with 23 people turning out to enter or taste the delightful scones.

One of the organisers, Wayne Branson, said it was a true delight to see two budding young cooks in Betty and Winnie Georg competing.

The winner was Father Brian Bascomb, with Patricia Horne second and Debbie Prime third.

All results were scored between 19 and 24 points out of possible 30 by scone judge Caryll Cabot.
