School fundraiser

Lake Wangary School is hosting a quiz night to fundraise for school projects at Coffin Bay Yacht Club from 6pm on Saturday, August 23. There will be live music, platters, raffles and prizes throughout the night. Tickets are $20 each, maximum eight people per table. Contact the school for more information.

Nursing lunch

Parkinson’s disease education day

Expert-led sessions for people with Parkinson’s disease, families, carers and clinicians will take place on Wednesday, August 27 from 10am to 3.15pm at Tumby Bay RSL. Dr Suzanne Sharrad will lead the sessions and will also be available for individual consultations on Thursday, August 28. Prostate Cancer Support Group

Wudinna & District AH&F Show

The Wudinna Showgrounds welcomes a massive day on Saturday, September 13 with horses in action, local craft and pavilion entries, shearing and poultry, as well as plenty of activities for kids, market stalls and live music.

Kimba AH&F Show

With plenty of pavilion sections, machinery displays, market stalls and kids’ activities, you cannot go wrong with having a day out at the Kimba Show on Saturday, September 20. There is something for everyone to enjoy.

Ceduna Oysterfest

Ceduna Oysterfest is a two-day feast celebrating the West Coast’s famous oysters, plus so much more, on the Ceduna foreshore, on Saturday, October 4 and Sunday, October 5. Entertainment, live music, kids’ activities and a fireworks display are highlights of the weekend.

Port Kenny time capsule

The Port Kenny time capsule laid in 1988 will be opened at a special community gathering on Sunday, October 5 at the Port Kenny and District’s Sports Centre, uncovering memories and mementos from the past. The event will run from noon until late – everyone is welcome, with lunch and dinner available to buy. EFTPOS and bar facilities will be available. The time capsule will be opened at 2.30pm. Cummins Show and Ag Fair

A fixture on the Cummins calendar for more than 100 years, the Cummins Showgrounds will host equestrian events, pavilion competitions and plenty of machinery to keep you enthused at the Cummins Show and Ag Fair on Saturday, October 11. Activities for the youngsters are also a hit.

Border Dash

Register now for the 35th annual Border Dash on Saturday, October 11. The iconic 13-kilometre run starts in Western Australia and crosses into South Australia to support the Royal Flying Doctor Service. After the dash, stick around for a barbecue and charity auction. Cleve Show

The Cleve Show on Saturday, October 18 is the final Eyre Peninsula show of the season, where kids can enjoy the fun activities and games on offer and adults can see all the staples of a country show.

Rodeo by the Sea

Streaky Bay will host the bulls, broncs and barrels once again at the popular Rodeo by the Sea event on Saturday, October 18 at Streaky Bay Racecourse. Blue Water Raiders Dragon Boat Club

Come and join the group for a morning paddle in the beautiful calm waters of Tumby Bay. The dragon boaters meet every Sunday, weather permitting, at 7.45am, at the Tumby Bay marina boat ramp. No experience is necessary, with life jackets and paddles supplied. Enjoy a single paddle or become a new member. Patchwork Group Ceduna

The Patchwork Group meets at Ceduna Men’s Shed on Eyre Highway every Tuesday from 10.30am to 3pm. Bring along any project you may want to do – you are not limited to patchwork. A small fee of $5 is charged per week, which enables the group to donate any excess funds to the Ceduna Hospital and Village Auxiliary plus Royal Flying Doctor Service, and also to help with the cost of utilities. Busyfingers Craft Group

Ceduna’s Busyfingers Craft Group meets at Ceduna Men’s Shed every Friday from 10.30am to 2pm and people are welcome to bring along any project they would like to. Members have a range of skills from quilting/patchwork, knitting, crocheting, card making, diamond dots, embroidery and more. A small fee of $3 is charged per week. Everyone is welcome to join Coffee, Chat and Craft at the Cleve Uniting Church Hall on the third Friday of each month.

Men’s catch up

Our Town Kimba hosts a men’s catch up each Tuesday for morning coffee, toasties and a chat from 10am to 11.30am.

Ladies’ coffee and connection

Coffee and a chat make the perfect blend at Our Town Kimba each Wednesday from 10am until 11.30am, alongside the Healing Hugs quilting group.

Youth hub

The Our Town Kimba shed hosts a relaxed hangout space for young people aged 12 to 17 every Wednesday from 3.30pm to 5.30pm.

RSL bingo

Cowell RSL Sub-Branch holds bingo each Tuesday at 7pm. $15 for 10 games with tea and coffee provided.

Just Love to Dance
