
Margaret Odlum has proved her scone baking prowess is no flash in the pan – once again winning the Tumby Bay scone baking competition.
St Margaret’s Anglican Church organised the second round of the event, again held in the church’s supper room.
Margaret also won the first round of the competition, for plain scones, which was held in March.
This time around various community members baked eight entries of savoury scones.
Uringa Hostel again supplied the judge, this time Betty Doudle, who deliberated for a while trying to separate the eventual winners.
Caryll Cabot won second place, with a tie for third place between Ann Hall and Sue Mellon.
On behalf of the organisers Wayne Branson thanked all competitors, who with guests enjoyed eating the scones with various toppings.
