Cancer support group meeting

The West Coast Survivors and Supporters Cancer Support Group will gather at Ceduna Foreshore Hotel on Friday, June 20 at 1.30pm for an informal meeting. Anyone in the community is welcome to attend.

NBN info session

Join the NBN Local team and learn more about Wudinna’s upgraded NBN on Saturday, June 21 at Wudinna Oval, during the Central Eyre United v Cowell football and netball matches. NBN Local will be there from 9.30am – where there will be a free bacon and egg breakfast – and stay all day. Come along to get tips and advice on how to upgrade, plus tailored advice on how the NBN can meet home and business needs.

Camera club meeting

Creating Connections

A free Creating Connections event will take place for Lower Eyre Council residents aged 55 and over at Minniribbie Farm on Tuesday, June 24. There will be a facilities tour and campfire morning tea. To register, please call 8676 0400.

Port Lincoln Ladies Probus Club’s Happy Chat will meet on Tuesday, June 24 at the Port Lincoln Hotel at 10am. Bring a photo of your parents’ wedding.

Parkinson’s meeting

The Eyre Peninsula Parkinson’s Support Group is holding its meeting on Tuesday, June 24 at 11am at the Tasman Hotel on Tasman Terrace, Port Lincoln. Members and friends are welcome.

Soup kitchen fundraiser

Ceduna Hospital & Village Auxiliary will be holding a soup kitchen fundraising event to raise funds for a 60-capacity blanket warmer for the hospital. The Soup Kitchen is on Friday, June 27 at the front of Ceduna Memorial Hall from 11am onwards. A variety of freshly homemade soups will be available, with a mug of soup and roll costing $7. Come along and enjoy one of the delicious soups for lunch.

Greenly Beach Planting Day

Lower Eyre Coastcare Association and Lake Wangary School are hosting a planting day at Greenly Beach on Sunday, June 29 from 11am to 3pm and you are invited to lend a hand to get about 1500 seedlings planted. It is a great day out and a great way to be part of actively caring for the much-loved coast. There will be a free barbecue lunch and toilet facility available – bring your own gloves, bucket and shovel/mattock. NAIDOC Week – Ceduna

Ceduna Hospital & Village Auxiliary will be holding its bimonthly meeting on Thursday, July 3 in the Ceduna Anglican Hall at 10.30am. The group is always looking for new members, so come along and join in.

Community BBQ and comedy show

Join Streaky Bay District Council for a gourmet barbecue and comedy show to help support local farming communities at 4pm on Friday, July 11 at Poochera Sports Complex. Hunt Club Ball

Upper Eyre Hunt Club is hosting its Hunt Club Ball on Saturday, July 12 at Minnipa Hall. There will be homemade supper, bar facilities and live music. 70 years’ celebration

Wanilla Rangers Netball Club is celebrating 70 years on Saturday, July 19, with an A grade showcase game at the Port Lincoln Netball Association netball courts, followed by a cocktail event at 6pm for a 6.30pm start at Port Lincoln Yacht Club. Tickets are $70 per person, with cocktail food by Damien Mrdjen, music by KBeez Gang and a silent auction. The dress code is cocktail, with a black and white theme.

Garage Girls show

Garage Girls is coming to Ceduna and Cummins in August. Hosted by Country Arts SA, the performance is inspired by Alice Anderson’s short but eventful life, taking you from Melbourne’s mysterious underbelly to the deserts of Alice Springs. The show will be at the Ceduna Sports Sports Club on Thursday, August 7 and the Cummins Community Hall on Saturday, August 9 – both at 7pm. Tickets are on sale from countryarts.org.au/events/garage-girls
