Australian Salmon Fishing Championship

It is time to get the reels out to take part in the Australian Salmon Fishing Championship in the Elliston district. There are prizes on offer to salmon caught from land between Mount Camel and Sheringa from now until Sunday, August 31. Entry is $10, with weigh-in at Elliston Caravan Park. Prostate Cancer Support Group

A discussion forum on prostate cancer will be held on Friday, June 13 from 5pm to 7pm at the Grand Tasman Hotel Meeting Room. Port Lincoln Ladies Club’s birthday lunch will be held at Kirton Bowling Club on Tuesday, June 17 at noon. It is $35 a head for a two-course meal.

NBN info session

Join the NBN Local team and learn more about Wudinna’s upgraded NBN on Saturday, June 21 at Wudinna Oval, during the Central Eyre United v Cowell football and netball matches. NBN Local will be there from 9.30am – where there will be a free bacon and egg breakfast – and stay all day. Greenly Beach Planting Day

Lower Eyre Coastcare Association and Lake Wangary School are hosting a planting day at Greenly Beach on Sunday, June 29 from 11am to 3pm and you are invited to lend a hand to get about 1500 seedlings planted. It is a great day out and a great way to be part of actively caring for the much-loved coast. There will be a free barbecue lunch and toilet facility available – bring your own gloves, bucket and shovel/mattock. Join Streaky Bay District Council for a gourmet barbecue and comedy show to help support local farming communities at 4pm on Friday, July 11 at Poochera Sports Complex. Garage Girls show

Garage Girls is coming to Ceduna and Cummins in August. Hosted by Country Arts SA, the performance is inspired by Alice Anderson’s short but eventful life, taking you from Melbourne’s mysterious underbelly to the deserts of Alice Springs. The show will be at the Ceduna Sports Sports Club on Thursday, August 7 and the Cummins Community Hall on Saturday, August 9 – both at 7pm. Patchwork Group Ceduna

The Patchwork Group meets at Ceduna Men’s Shed on Eyre Highway every Tuesday from 10.30am to 3pm. Bring along any project you may want to do – you are not limited to patchwork. A small fee of $5 is charged per week, which enables the group to donate any excess funds to the Ceduna Hospital and Village Auxiliary plus Royal Flying Doctor Service, and also to help with the cost of utilities. Busyfingers Craft Group

Ceduna’s Busyfingers Craft Group meets at Ceduna Men’s Shed every Friday from 10.30am to 2pm and people are welcome to bring along any project they would like to. Members have a range of skills from quilting/patchwork, knitting, crocheting, card making, diamond dots, embroidery and more. A small fee of $3 is charged per week. RSL bingo

Cowell RSL Sub-Branch holds bingo each Tuesday at 7pm. $15 for 10 games with tea and coffee provided.

Just Love to Dance
