Arno Bay has many great volunteers and they deserve to be thanked for their efforts.
Arno Bay Progress Association president Trish Darling said the fact National Volunteer Week is held from May 19 to 25 was raised at a recent meeting.
“We have so many great volunteers in Arno Bay and someone said, ‘let’s say thank you to them’,” she said.
As a result the association is hosting a sausage sizzle lunch and games at Turnbull Park on Sunday at noon for them.
Trish said invitations had been sent out to various clubs and groups based in the district for committee members, or anyone else that regularly helped out.
Volunteers are welcome from Arno Bay Country Fire Service brigade, ambulance, New Year’s Day Committee, Arno Bay Estuary Group, Friends of Osprey, Arno Bay Hall, Dirt Circuit Club, Yacht Club, Bowls Club, Arno Bay Complex, Progress Association, Hotel Arno Social Club, CWA, mosaic group and fuel committee.
Those who regularly lent a hand at any other Arno Bay groups not listed, as well as those involved with any of the sports held at the sporting complex, are also welcome.
Those intending to attend should RSVP to Shirley Duncan or Trish Darling, if they have not already done so, to help with catering.
People need to take their own drinks.
