New journalist keen for EP journey

The Eyre Peninsula Advocate’s new journalist is keen to further his journalism journey in the region.

Originally from Loxton in the Riverland, Liam Wormald joined the team earlier this month.

He wrote sport reports for the Murray Pioneer newspaper from 2014 to 2018, before moving to Adelaide in 2019 to study a Bachelor of Journalism and Professional Writing, Bachelor of Arts (Creative Writing and Literature) course at the University of South Australia.

At the conclusion of his four-year journalism course Liam started full-time work at the Stock Journal newspaper at the end of 2022, after doing freelance work and his internship there earlier in the year.

Liam said he was very excited to forge a future at the Eyre Peninsula Advocate.

“I’ve loved it so far and can’t wait to get to know the people from around the EP and get to tell their stories,” he said.

“After living in Adelaide for five years, I’m keen to get comfortable and explore another beautiful area of SA.”

Liam enjoys spending time with his friends and family, watching tennis and AFL, and is an avid Adelaide Crows fan.
